# Sales Management Software

> Targets, activity, pipeline and results for every salesperson and team, from the same live data - so managing sales is coaching rather than chasing spreadsheets.

Managing a sales team usually means assembling a picture from several places: the pipeline spreadsheet, the quote folder, the accounts package and whatever each salesperson says in the meeting. By the time it is assembled it is out of date, and the conversation is about reconciling figures rather than improving them. CubeCRM gives sales managers one live view of activity, pipeline, quotes and results by person and team, measured against targets you set. Calls, meetings and quotes are logged as a side effect of doing the work, so the data is current without anybody maintaining it, and the weekly review can focus on the deals that need help.

## Details

- **Solution:** Sales Management Software
- **Group:** Running sales
- **Platform:** CubeCRM (https://cubecrm.co.uk/platform)
- **Coverage:** Nationwide, set up in person
- **Also known as:** Sales team management software, Sales tracking software, Sales performance software, Sales activity tracking, Sales CRM for managers

## What is included

- **Targets that track themselves:** Set targets by person, team, product or period - revenue, new accounts, quotes issued, calls made - and see progress against them live.
- **Activity without timesheets:** Calls, emails, meetings and visits are logged as the work happens, from the desktop or a phone. Activity reports reflect what was done, not what was remembered on a Friday.
- **Dashboards by role:** A manager’s view across the team, a salesperson’s view of their own week, and a director’s view of the whole business - all from the same numbers.
- **Exceptions, not averages:** Stalled deals, unanswered enquiries, quotes about to expire and accounts nobody has contacted recently, surfaced so they can be dealt with this week.
- **Teams and territories:** Organise salespeople into teams and territories, move accounts between them with their history, and report at any level.
- **Reports that arrive:** Scheduled reports sent by email on the morning of the sales meeting, so everybody arrives looking at the same figures.

## Real-world use cases

### A sales meeting spent reconciling

**Scenario:** A packaging distributor’s weekly sales meeting began with twenty minutes of comparing each salesperson’s spreadsheet against the accounts package. The discussion about actual deals was always rushed.
**Outcome:** Everybody now works from the same dashboard, sent automatically on the morning of the meeting. The meeting starts with the deals that need a decision.

### A new manager with no history

**Scenario:** A newly promoted sales manager inherited a team of six and no record of who had been doing what. Coaching was based on impressions rather than evidence.
**Outcome:** Activity, conversion and deal size are visible per person. Two salespeople with similar activity had very different win rates, and the conversation about why was far more useful than a general push for more calls.

### Accounts nobody was looking after

**Scenario:** A trade supplier discovered several mid-sized customers had not been contacted in over a year, because each salesperson assumed somebody else looked after them.
**Outcome:** Every account has an owner and a contact frequency. Accounts that fall behind are listed on the manager’s dashboard, and lapsed revenue from existing customers started to recover.

## Figures

- **Live** Activity and pipeline by person
- **Set** Targets on revenue, accounts or activity
- **One** Set of figures for the whole team

## Frequently asked questions

**Will salespeople see each other’s figures?**

Only if you want them to. Permissions control who sees which dashboards, deals and accounts, and some teams deliberately share a leaderboard while others keep figures private.

**Can targets include things other than revenue?**

Yes. New accounts, quotes issued, meetings held, calls made, response times and margin can all be targeted and tracked alongside revenue.

**Where do revenue figures come from?**

From won deals and accepted quotes in CubeCRM, and optionally from invoiced sales synced from Xero, Sage or QuickBooks - so targets can be measured on either won or invoiced revenue.

**Does it replace our commission spreadsheet?**

It gives you the figures commission is calculated from, by person and period, in a report you can export. The calculation itself often has house rules we would rather replicate in a report than guess at.
